Robert FrankMSEd, Director of UCSF Early Care and Education ProgramsHello, I have been with UCSF since September 2001. I began with the School of Nursing's California Child Care Health Program, a First Five funded state-wide project designed to improve health services for children in early care programs in 20 counties. The project's goal was to o create linkages and promote collaboration between and among health and safety professionals and early care professionals. Prior to that, I directed Head Start programs in San Francisco, Alameda and Yolo counties serving as many as 1,200 children. Currently I continue to serve Head Start as a certified program monitor and reviewer. I am also involved with Center for Prevention and Early Intervention (CPEI) which provides training, technical assistance, and resource development for young children with disabilities and their families. Over the last four years, I have been facilitating county teams of early care and special education professionals receiving intensive training through statewide institutes to increase the capacity of local communities to appropriately and effectively serve children with disabilities and other special needs in early care and education settings. I am absolutely delighted to have joined the early care and education team here at Campus Life Services during a time of enormous growth and expansion.
