Rideshare A 20-mile round-trip commute by car each day can cost more than $2,000 per year, not including parking! There are, however, many alternatives for getting to and from work. You can walk or bike, take public transit, join a carpool or vanpool or even share a car. How can I travel between campuses without my car? UCSF Transportation Services offers a free shuttle service to transport UCSF faculty, staff, students, patients and visitors between primary campus sites and some secondary campus locations for University business throughout the workday. How can I get home in an emergency? UCSF's Rideshare program will reimburse any transit expenses up to $50 should you need to leave work for an emergency. Need more reasons to rideshare? See how much money you can save with our Pre-Tax Payroll Deduction Program or how it helps the environment by using the commute calulators below. Commute calculators Cost Calculator
